The Friends of Forge Pond NJ is committed to an open, transparent debate of the re- development process addressing the former Foodtown site in Brick Township, NJ. This is OUR last large tract of public property that every resident in Brick Township owns a piece of and should have a voice in the re-development. Smart and environmentally conscious decisions should be a priority, as the choice of development and development intensity will have ramifications for decades. We oppose the suggestion that over 190 condominiums, 72 apartments on top of the 19,000 square foot “strip mall” is in the best interest of Brick Township and it’s citizens. Participation in the debate of how to utilize this property is critical to the people and environment. We hopefully look forward to public participation, sharing of information, and the truthful and transparent decision making process in a public forum.
